For the screens that gave the problem, did the Plan-G window overlap the FS window? Intersecting with the FS window seems to do strange things to a program's UI, regardless of what that program is. Just a thought...

Hi Tim,

Sorry about the delay in getting back to you, but some of us have to work.........Taking the points raised in order -

1. I DO have an AFCAD for the farmstrips, it just holds the ICAO code plus lat/long/alt data - no runways.

2. It is possible to create a flight plan for flights between strips using FSX or FSC, but FSC fails to make a correct plan for FSX, it always starts in mid Atlantic (lat=0, long = 0) because it can't find any runway data. I should perhaps try to make a flight plan in Plan-G rather than importing an old one.

3. I will send my FSC user waypoint data file to you, each entry consists of an "ICAO" code - up to 10 chars - a name - up to 40 chars - plus lat and long.

4. Re my 2nd screen, I run under Vista 32, both FSX and Plan-G in windowed mode, FSX on one screen (resolution 1024 x 768), and Plan-G on the other (resolution 1280 x 1024). Maybe I should swap them around and see what happens when I resize.

Hi Tim,

I've just used Plan_G to create a flight plan between farm strips, it works just fine. I added some user waypoints, and they were ok, and I also loaded the flight plan into FSX, and checked it appeared on the GPS ok.

I'll study the text files to see what I need to fix to get Plan-G to read my existing plans and display them as expected

Hi Tim,

(a) Just checked the flight plan text files, but FSC format is plain text, yours is ?XML?

(b) Swopped FSX and Plan-G between screens, only problem with Plan-G controls is that -
At first the mouse wheel failed to zoom in/out
I used the on screen bar to do this
The mouse wheel then worked!

If you get that again, Frank, click on the centre of the Google globe above the scale bar and the zoom function will be restoreed.

It seems that using any windows control stops the mouse zoom working, until you click on the google map controls. It's on my list...

Frank, my databases are in MS Access 2003 format. If you have access to Access, or Open Office, you can import the data direct, otherwise send me an example file and I'll see about writing an import routine.
