Background maps included in the future?

Is there any plan for any future versions to have the maps incorporated into the software so that we don't have to rely on an internet connection to use Plan G?

No. That'd be like shipping global level photoscenery - it'd need to come on its own hard drive!

I can certainly provide for local URLs if people want to build their own tileservers though.

I was thinking more of a basic background map with an overlay of airports, navaids etc, something like the old FSNav.
