Hi, .

I have installer the newest version of Plan-G on my computer, ... but i cant get it to start.
I get an error all the time complaning about Kernel.dll and something about XML in the Logfiles.

I have .NET 4.5.1 installed.

I copy the log file as attached document.

I have .NET 4.5.1 installed.

Mattias, that's causing the problem, at least for me. I had to revert to .NET 4.0 in order to keep Plan-G running.

Thx, .. for the answer.

I tested also under 4.0 as i had before 4.5.1 and it doesent start even where.

I tried to roll back to 4.0 but same results, .. is it any problems with 64 bit..?

Shouldn't be. Plan-G is 32-bit - it has to be so in order to talk to FSX and SFUIPC.

Thx, for the answers... as i have used the program before on my computer under Windows 7 64Bit i thought it's a bit confusing it doesent work right now.
Does the program need other installed components to work ,. like Microsoft Windows Visual C++ Redistributable or other?

Otherwise im out of ideas.... :(

Have you tried rolling back to a restore point before your last OS update?

As Tim said, there should be no problem. It runs now well under Win 7 64 bit. In order to avoid future problems with .Net-updates I have installed Plan-G v 2.0.5 (it has the same symptoms) on a separate laptop and there are even no problems under Vista 64 Professional. My only concern for the future is that .NET might become mandatory for more and more other applications. As I use both Plan-G versions for different purposes (v2.0.5 for airport development) I'm talking Tim's ear off in oder to consider an update for both versions to .NET 4.5 (I hope Tim, you're reading it again  >:D).

Thx for the answers both.

Hmm, i tried today to use a software from microsoft .. who should clean out .net installs i have installed on my computer.
I did download it, and run it.. and made a clean full install of .net 4.0 ... but with no success at all.

Same problem as before .. soo i dont realy know whats screwing things up..

Im realy out of ideas now, .. seems little annoying only to reinstall / rollback my comp only for one prog.

£500 ($750) for the required update to visual studio is a considerable disincentive on that front, considering there's no other reason to buy it.

Yeah, you're certainly right Tim. These are about €600 reasons, indeed. That means on the long run the need to cage your application in an isolated second PC. However, it might be a good reason for a crowd-funding initiative, isn't it?
