Connection Problem

Just upgraded to latest version and cannot connect to FSX or P3D. Both databases appear to be setup OK, but when I move the mouse over the "Connect" icon it highlights yellow then orange as I click but will not connect. The "Disconnect" icon is not highlighted as are the Lock and Free buttons but the Sync is highlighted.

Tried messing about with SimConnect settings in Options - FS Connection to no avail.

Don't know about SimConnect.xml file, didn't have to do anything about that file before, with earlier versions.

Didn't have this problem in previous versions. So far everything else seems OK.

Is this on a single PC or across the network?

Please attach the Plan-G log file. Thanks.

Tim, its just a single PC, but I have both FSX and P3D on it both working OK.

Did a C:\ search for *.log files and cannot find anything that looks like a PlanG log file. Where should it be

Tim.

Looks like I found the problem. As I said I have FSX and P3D running on the same computer. I only recently installed P3D and had spent a few days playing with it, but had not used Plan-G, apart from setting up the database(s). So when I tried to use Plan-G for a flight I didn't think about selecting FSX or P3D Data as it always defaulted to FSX when that was all I had. All seems Ok now though.

Sorry about wasting your time.

Looks like I was premature in saying all was OK. It works in P3D but not FSX. Databases seem to be OK in FSX as some addon airports (not in original FSX) are included but still when FSX Data is selected, it will not connect to sim. When using P3D it doesn't seem to matter which dataset I select, the user aircraft is showing. Checked file locations etc but no good.

Log file is attached (I hope)

Your settings appear to be correct for a local connection. Can you attach the simconnect.xml (if you have one)?

Here are the two SimConnect.xml files. One from P3D the other from FSX. They look the same to me. Should there be one for Plan-G? If so I cannot find it.

You don't actually need a simconnext.xml for a local connection, but if you have one it needs to match your connection criteria. Yours is set up for only a Pipe connection, but your connection attempts are using IPv4.

I'd suggest either remove the xml file or change it so it matches.
