Hello everyone,

Today I tought let's try Plan-G.
But now i've got an issue.
It's very slow untill I disable Icao airspace on the map.
So its very fast when i've disabled the icao airspace but very slow when it's enabled.

I think because it has to load the airspace of the whole world instead of a small region.
Is it possible to get the Airspace Table of a small region?

Greetings,

Erwin

Hi Erwin

You will need to check with Tim but I don't think it is an option to enable the airspace for a small region.  However having said that mine is definitely not slow.  Have you clicked on the little box in the bottom right of the Airspace Color Guide?  There are several options there you may wish to experiment with such as above and below 10,000' and what zoom levels you wish this to show at.

Cheers

Airspace is only calculated and plotted for the portion of the map in the display - plus a small overscan margin around the edges. So the amount of data drawn depends entirely on the combination of zoom level and window size.(at smaller zoom levels, it can still be massive, which is why there are options to limit it)

Ive got an intel i7 4770k with 12gb of ram and
plan G running on a SSD but it's so slow like moving the map takes ages when I  got the icao airspace enabled.

I have no explanation for that. What else is running?

Nothing special.

My pc is very clean , only FSX and Plan G.
Fsx is not runnning when i launch plan g.

Hi Erwin

I have been playing around with different settings and the only way I can get mine to go slow is if I select in Airspace Layer Options a minimum zoom for ICAO Airspace of 5 or less.  I would still suggest you play around with these settings because these are the only things IMO that can be causing it.  Hope it helps you find the problem.

Is the airspace still slow without FSX running?

Weird. Be interested to know what Task Manager has to say about CPU, memory use etc.

Hello, i have the exact same problem. All is well until i turn on the ICAO Airspace, the more airspaces is on the screen the worse. Nothing i tried is helping. Plan-G3.exe is taking about 100 MB RAM, and max 5% CPU, graphic card is idle.

Hi. I am experiencing exactly the same issue - once ICAO data are shown on map, the response of the program is 2-5 seconds. ZOOM levels settings have no effect on this, as these settings only specify at which ZOOM level the ICAO data are to be shown, and once they are shown, computer gets very laggy. It also affects other programs, scrolling in mozilla is stuttering for instance. CPU utilization is around 20-50% on Core2Duo 2GHz, I am using networked config with IVAP and ASN also running. I never had this problem with V2 version. Yes, it could get laggy too, but it was still usable, but this is affecting the whole computer, not just planG.
