As a newbie here, is there any preference as to where to install this impressive programme?
Is it wise to create a folder on one's hard drive and place it there or is it satisfactory to simply install it into "Program Files (x86)?

Better in th root of a hard disk.

V2 required to be installed away from "Program files" since it would write data to its own folder, and MS doesn't like that. But v3 writes all data to "My Documents \Plan-G Files" (and some subfolders), which means it's perfectly safe to install it in Program Files (x86).

My bad. My answer is du to old habits since V2.

Much better and classic way for a new install.
