Hi I've just purchased Sim720s Inverness (EGPE) airport
I use Vox atc and Orbix EU FSX gold on Win7
Vox tells me to use RW 11 But RW 11 is the wrong way round (I think) looking at the runway numbers 29 should be RW11(My aircraft in the pic) This is causing AI to land correctly into the wind But my aircraft is being sent to what should be and is in the sim to RW 11 and as you can see by the pic is a Tail Wind take off
So Wich is right and which is wrong and how can I correct it Cheers Mike

Mike, I don't know the answer, but are you able to select Rw11 from FSX directly for this airport? If the developers of this specific airport did not add a start position for this RW you may have to taxi to the right end.

Thanks for reply Yes FSX puts the aircraft to the correct RW in this case 11 but PlanGs airport diagram still numbers it as 29 It's kind of A*** about face

Looks like the runway may be backwards in the addon file. The "Runway Start"position is a separate element within the bgl, and can more or less be placed anywhere.

To fix it, you could try opening the airport in a utility such as ADE (Airport Design Editor), and reversing the runway.

Hi Tim
Thanks for reply Before I do that I will go to Sim720 and let them know After all this is payware and they should help sort it
I have never come across this before and using Vox Atc to run the AI landing aircraft are opposite to aircraft taking off
Thank you for a great program

Hi Tim
This is another shot of Inverness Runway 11 by Sim 720 from inside default 172 The numbers are correct The compass shows heading 110' But the airport diagram in Plan-G shows I'm on runway 29 so I think some thing is wrong on the Plan-G side

I'm willing to believe my code has bugs - and I'll certainly take a look, but out of 23000 airports and just this one addon shows an error, on only one runway? Seems unlikely.

Hi Tim
Here is another pic No change to the sim just a change to the Orbix EGPE airport bgl to off as you now see the airport nums in PG are now near right
But and here you maybe able to help me The AI aircraft are still being directed the wrong way ie landing on RW 29(30) taking off on RW 11(12) Would the program you spoke of (ADE) turn the runway direction around but could I keep the numbers where they are so that landing and take-off in the same direction as the incoming wind If that makes sense

Dunno, designing airports for AI traffic flow is an art in itself. I did some of that many years ago, but it's far enough back that I don't really remember how it all works.

Hi Tim
Thanks I will just live with it It doesn't detract too much from my program It would be a little scary seing aircraft lights coming toward you when taking off in the RW LOL!
