Made several flight plans and could not export any of them at all.  Reloaded v3.1.1 three times and no joy.
Could anyone give asvice

Maybe the newly created plans are not going where you assume they are. Check My Documents\Plan-G Files\Plans to see if the *.pln files are in there. If so this post gives a trick to help.

Thanks for the response.  The program just does not save.  After I click Export and then the FSX pln option, it simply returns to the main map screen.  No pop-ups, windows, options or advisories!

It's got me beat.  The log just shows that it doesn't proceed with the save but gives no reason for it.

Something must be causing the Save dialogue box to not show up... or any part of the Save routine.

I have scanned the C: drive for *pln files and none found except in the FSX missions.

Bud,

That same link also gives way to another fix, the C++ libraries. If that isn't it then maybe get your settings file to rebuild itself by deleting it. NOTE - Uninstalling/reinstalling Plan-G DOES NOT GET RID OF THE SETTINGS FILE ! All Uninstalling/reinstalling does is waste time if the settings file gets boogerd as the same settings are reintroduced unless...... The core executable gets changed, of which, in this case, doesn't.

The file locations are - (NOTE - "Local Settings"and onward are hidden.  (Tools|Folder Options|View) )
Greater than WIN XP =   C:\Users\<USER_NAME>\AppData\Local\TA_Software\Plan-G3.exe_Url_<SOME HASH CODE>\VERSION#\user.config
WIN XP (or earlier?) =   C:\Documents and Settings\<USER NAME>\Local Settings\Application Data\TA_Software\Plan-G3.exe_URL_<SOME HASH CODE>\<VERSION #>\user.config

If the above doesn't work then reply with an attachment of the complete log file. That is the only way to figure out what's going on.
Located = DRIVE:\My Documents\Plan-G Files\Plan-G_Log.txt

Good luck,
Roman

This is a recurring problem for SOME users, with no obvious cause or remedy. If you install the 3.1.2 beta (stickied at the top of this forum), on export it creates an "autoexport" temporary version of the plan before the dialog opens, which will still be there if the dialog fails. While not ideal, it does at least get you a copy of the file. You will need to rename or move it before attempting another export or closing the program. The temporary file is located in My Documents\Plan-G Files.

That just shows a program startup. There's no attempt to create a plan or load/save one.
