Using Plan G and having created a trip to fly, I then go to 'File' and save it as a 'Plan G file'. Then using 'Export' I send it to FSX but it doesn't appear there when I click through 'Free Flight' - 'Flight Planner'  and 'Load'.
What have I failed to do, folks?

You probably saved it to the same folder -- My Documents\Plan-G Files. For FSX to see it, the exported Plan needs to be in My Documents\Flight Simulator X Files.

Either copy the file or re-export it to this location, and you'll be good to go.
