Hi. Are you sure that with the PLAN-G v.3.1.4 program, can I get a VFR flight plan with a .xml file that is recognized by the default aircraft GPS? Thank you.

P3D uses .pln files, the same as FSX. I don't know what .xml files you are referring to.

I asked in the P3D Forum why the GPS of their default planes did not properly recognize VFR flight plans uploaded in .pln format. I was given this answer: "Prepar3D uses its own xml file format ... so you need to have an app that knows how to write them."

Um . . . For sure there are addon GPS units, such as Flight1's Garmin GTN 650/750, and they require specific file formats (not currently supported by Plan-G). But the default Prepar3d flight planner definitely loads .pln files, and they definitely appear in the default GPS.
