OK, So after many hours, I have PlanG running I am able to create FP, export it to FSX Steam (I know it works because GPS shows it) Per manual, I load PlanG and the flight plan, do the Connect, (no BONG), but I cannot see the aircraft at starting location or anytime for that matter.  I thought because of the praise of this pkg, it would be easy to install and use. I would just like to have settings for WIN 7 64bit etc etc to use the pkg and all it's options. Thanks  WWV

What are your connect settings? Please attach the log. Thanks.

Thanks for the response as I really do like the package and want to get it to full function. I'm not sure what the log is but here are my fsx settings. Thanks again. WWV
General  connect with  FSUPC
SimConnect Settings (FSX)    IPv6
FSX Computer      localhost
Server Port/Pipe  0

You'll find the log in My Documents\Plan-G Files. It'll tell me what's happening - or not.

From what you said, you're attempting to connect with FSUIPC. Do you have FSUIPC installed?

I looked in program files (86)\steam\steamapps\common\modules   and FSUIPC is not there.  I think I tried the other options as well.

tim arnot

Ok, so either you need to install FSUIPC (and WideFS if running across a network), or switch to "Simconnect (FSX)" in the Connection Settings panel.

I changed to Simconnect (FSX) exited out of PlanG, reloaded fsx reloaded PlannG, loaded a .pln from PlanG, tried connect and "bong" did not connect, in FSX flight planner loaded the same .pln, went back to PlanG and still "bong". The .pln is in fsx gps.  Not sure what the problem is.

tim arnot

The plan file is not relevant to achieving a connection. Please attach the new log, and we'll see what happened.

Still does not work. Question, are there two versions for Plan-G for download? one for network and one for single PC? I'm running single pc. Just trying to guess what problem could be.

tim arnot

No, there's just one version.

Sometimes a machine won't like the word 'localhost'. Try replacing it with the address 127.0.0.1 (which means the same thing, ie "me").

Another protocol you can try:
Network Mode: Pipe
FSX Computer: 127.0.0.1
Server Port/Pipe: (delete whatever's here and leave blank)

If neither works, it can only mean it's being blocked. check your firewall and antivirus and make sure they're not blocking either Plan-G or FSX. Depending on your firewall, you may need to add both programs to an allow list.

SUCCESS!!!!!  I think I will still try FSUIPC, don't know why I didn't know about that after my many years of simming.  Thanks for your help. Love the product. WWV
