simconnect what!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE HELP i DON'T WHAT TO DO

I have a laptop next to my desktop PC. I want run Active Sky Advanced and Plan-G through this laptop and run my FSX on my PC. Is this possible? If so, how? Is there a manual for dummies, I have never done any networking and know next to nothing about it. I want to be able to fly in FTX and have the Plan-G program running on the other computer so I know where I am going. Thanks guys. O ya I got FSUIPC registered do I have to buy Simconnect, what is simconnect......lol Cya

Simconnect is part of FSX. You need to be running FSX SP2 or Acceleration in order to connect Plan-G with SimConnect.

The entire of section 10 of the Plan-G manual is devoted to connecting to FS across a network.

I have ASA and Plan-g runing on a seperate computer over simconect. If you follow the instructions that come with ASA it should be fairly easy. Get ASA working then get plan-g. Good luck and let me know If I can help more.

Hey man, thanks for the words. I have three computers withj a router, so Its not wireless interent. I cannot get windows to show all 3 computers in the Network Map, so I'm guessing that the ASA doc are no good until I can get a network set-up. I've viewed youtube vids and read tons of doc and i can't get her up and going. Could you help me over the phone or maybe through MSN? Thanks i really wanted to always get this simconnect thing going to off load some shit onto other PC's. Anyways taker easy.

As far as Plan-G and FS goes, lets start by identifying the computers. I can only tell you for Windows 7, and the procedure for other versions will be slightly different, although Similar.

* Click on the Start Button and bring up the menu
* Find 'network' in the right-hand list and right-click on it, to bring up the context menu. Select Properties
* Here it will show your active network connection, and there will be a link labelled "Local Area Connection". Click on it.
* This will bring up the Local Area Connection Status dialog. There is a Details button. If you click on this it will list IPv4 address, default gateway, and IPv6 address. Make a note of these items for each PC, and list them here. Also identify which PC runs FS, which runs Plan-G, and their names.

The network protocol you need seems to be missing - is there no "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)"?
(I am only familiar with Windows XP - maybe it's called something different in Win 7).

Can you open a DOS box (also known as the Command Console)?

Click on "Run", enter "cmd" - a black window opens, enter "ipconfig /all"

It will list the network interface name, the host name (the name of your FSX PC on your LAN), your IP address, and the Gateway (router) IP Address.

That's a bad one. One or more of your FSX files is/are corrupted. You MAY have to re-install FSX  :-[

Try re-booting and re-running FSX. Do you still ger ID-25?
