How to rebuild database

I am running Plan-G with FSX off of a networked machine. It seems to me that Plan-G ought to need to update its FSX database to keep up with changes in the scenery.cfg. With another flight planning program I am used to doing this manually when necessary. Is it necessary to do such a rebuilding with Plan-G, and if so, how do I do it? At first, I thought Plan-G might do so automatically on launch, but the data files it creates haven't changed their date since my installation of Plan-G despite my having altered by scenery.cfg since then. So it doesn't appear to be automatic. Yet I can't seem to find any command in the program that will allow me to initiate a rebuild.

This is especially of interest because of Orbx's FTX Australia, which uses its own scenery.cfg when activated. It would seem that if the Plan-G database is created when FTX isn't activated, then its database would not reflect FTX data.

Maybe I just don't understand fully how the database works. So may I please get some clarification.

Yes, it's exactly the same procedure as when you first ran Plan-G. Go to the Data Ribbon, and click on Build FSX Database...  :)

I guess I should have said before that I've tried this and nothing appears to happen. The button appears to be unresponsive - no click, flash, or change of color. And the data files do not change their date.

I just noticed that in the Location tab there are no entries, although the program is able to recognize the location of my plane. Should these location entries for the main FSX folder and the scenery.cfg file be filled in? Could it be that the program knows where to find my main FSX folder - even though this isn't filled in - but doesn't know where the scenery.cfg is located? And please remember, I'm running Plan-G over a network.

Well, that appears to have done it. I filled in the two location fields, restarted Plan-G, and then I was able to get a response when the Build Database button was pressed. Thanks for the prompt reply to my inquiry.

One more question - am I correct in assuming that whenever I shift into and out of FTX I need to rebuild the database since a different scenery.cfg is involved? Or should I just swap the 2 data files involved which would be a lot faster?
