I have Vista and FSX (basic)
I can't get connected and have read the manual.
I know where the Scenery.cfg file is but there's nothing that says SimConnect anywhere,
not even a simconnect.xml file.
Lost and getting ready to delete everything related to flight simming :( >:(

Make sure you have FSX Service Pack 2 installed. Then set the FS Connection dialog *exactly* as described on p 49/50. You don't need to worry about simconnect.xml unless you are trying to connect across a nework.

I enabled Plan-G in the firewalls as well as FSX, as Win Firewall does not let you open specific ports by number (I haven't seen that in my Win7 Home Premium).

I also couldn't get it to connect but I read again the manual and made a few changes to my SimConnect.xml and voiĆ”! it now works remotely.
