I had been running plan-g version 9 for a few months now over my network mostly without problems except for the occasional crash. Now all of a sudden it started not displaying the map when i launched the program, so i deleted the folder and made a new one from the zip file. Now for some reason I can still connect to my FSX computer and everything, (it shows air traffic and my plane on the map), but it will not show any map overlays even though I have built the FSX database several times, and have show overlays turned on. Something must have changed in a file somewhere, but I can't figure out where. The directories for FSX and scenery.cfg are still valid and shared. Where is simconnect.xml supposed to be again? I have a feeling that might be the issue. Any clues?

I found out the problem, it was because i put the plan-g folder in programfiles, was reading the manual and saw that that was not recommended. Copied it to C:\, built database again, now its working. Thanks for making plan-g!

I have the same problem as Rinkerbuck -- i.e., Plan-G worked fine until yesterday (July 31) -- now I cannot get the overlays to show. Re-installation (either in C:\ or in Program Files) does not solve the proble. It seems that something has changed in the interface with Google.

  Thanks, RGrimes

OK, I finally have it fixed. I tried running Google and discovered that my internet explorer was set to "offline" (how, I have no idea). I set it to online, following which both Google and Plan-G are now running properly.   RGrimes
