Plan-G Starts but will not connect to FSX

I have re-installed FSX and since re-installation, Plan-G cannot connect to FSX.
Any suggestions?

Note that I had the acceleration pack installed previously, but have to re-installed it.  Could this be the cause?

Definitely. FSX needs to be SP2 or Acceleration for the Simconnect connection. You can connect to other releases with FSUIPC though.
