PLAN G so slow

I don't know what might be the problem, but Plan G is just crawling at a snails pace.  It generates the database fine.  Then once its up and drawing up the map.  It takes several minutes to draw the map up.  I am not sure why this is happening.  Sometimes it freezes and becomes unresponsive.  Switching to the Map settings.  I check on the options to add to the map and it takes 20 seconds to repond to the check marks I make.

Are you running it on the same PC as FS and at the same time? If so which do you start first? Try starting them in the other order -- it really can make a big difference.

I am running it on the same PC and I have tried every possible way.  FSX first then Plan G, Plan G first then FSX.  When I go to the Map Settings tab and click the boxes it takes forever for it to even show the check mark in the box.  It's just at a crawl.  It wont respond even to the  Zoom in and out.

Hi there. Well i´m having the same problem here. My pc is really fast but Plan G turns soooo slow. I really like the program but its annoying when even the marks on the boxes take decades to appear. I´ll try cleaning the cache or something like that...then i´ll tell you.

And well...as expected...cleaned the Temp Folder, cache also,and then started first FS2004 and then  started Plan-G. Works perfect.

I double click the ICON the bring up Plan G and it won't even populate the map???

i just installed plan g in a win xp computer, with internet explorer 8, and .net 3.5sp.  have had same kind of problems as pilot dave.: extremely slow, sometimes map does not appear, takes many seconds to popul;ate map or to see changes in option check marks.  have installed it twice now.  fsx data created at reasonable speed, but so far no success completing even simplest flight plan before mouse or entire computer freezes.  can close plan g with ctrl/alt/delete, but same things happen (or don't happen) when i try again.

  thus far, i have not even tried to turn on fsx, so all these difficulties are unrelated to startup sequence.

running a moderately fast clean computer. i regualrly clean out temporary files using cleaner, and via the options section in internet explorer.

any advice will be most welcome.
