Install Error: Error Writing to File E:\Plan-G\WebIcons\Plane120.png

GREAT PRODUCT!!! 

I installed Plan-G v 2.0 to my hard drive and it installed fine.  I uninstalled it to try installing Plan-G on a memory stick (E:\Plan-G) I just purchased - great deal $9.99 for 8GB memory stick.  The installation starts up fine and looking at E:\Plan-G, it looks like it's installed most of the files and folders but 3/4 into the install, I get this error:

"Error Writing to File E:\Plan-G\WebIcons\Plane120.png Verify that you have access to that directory"

- when I look at the WebIcons folder, it has 135 files with the exception of Plane120.png.
- I tried executing the setup.exe as administrator with same result
- I tried giving myself full control access to the entire E: drive, the Plan-G folder/files and the WebIcons folder/files with the same result
- I tried sharing the E:\ drive with all users with full control with same result.

I am out of ideas.  Any suggestions?  :'(

There's nothing special about Plane120.png, so I don't know why it should give you trouble. If you've already installed 2.0 elsewhere on your PC, you can simply copy it wholesale onto the memory stick. The installation is really only for a number of runtimes that Plan-G is dependent on (primarily SQL Server CE); Plan-G itself is location-agnostic.

You should be aware that 2.0 is not as mobile as 0.9 was. Any PC you run it on must have SQL Server Compact Edition and .net 4.0 installed. You can do that either through the Plan-G installer or from the Microsoft Downloads Centre. But with those conditions met, you can move it around freely as before.

A point of caution: Although you can copy the Plan-G install to a new location and run it from there, if you delete the original files from where the installer put them, you *may* have trouble uninstalling the old version when it comes to installing an update.

(I say "may", because I haven't actually tried it to see what happens!)
