In using Plan-G, I noticed that the ground speed does not seem to change if while flying I press the R and + keys.  For instance, in flying the default Cessna 172, with a ground speed displayed as 116 knots, pressing R and + shows the same 116 knots, though the plane does fly twice as fast.

This is a very minor issue, but maybe could be fixed in an updated version.

No, and neither should it. The ASI doesn't suddenly show 232kts when you press R+, neither does the GPS. You are not flying twice as fast, FS is speeding up time. Not the same thing.

I confirmed today that you are correct for both the airspeed and GPS groundspeed.
