right Mouse buttons interfere with editing

Is there a way to disable the right mouse button from affecting the zoom factor?  It clearly interferes with the normal editing functions. A slight error in the pointer, creates havoc with the zoom. Normally, you click on the right mouse button to open the edit window; instead, it sometimes reduces the view.

I agree, this really bugs me when I am using it. It also happens that when my computer is runninng at maximum capacity (as it is frequently forced too with Plan_g running) I have to hold down the right click for several seconds otherwise it zooms out.
