Fantastic piece of software

Hi all,

I rarely post on these kind of forums as I am so busy doing my own support, but I just had to register here and record my appreciation for what I think is one of the finest, most delightful, thoroughly designed, beautiful pieces of software ever done for FSX. And it is all the more remarkable that it's free....(I'm of course going to donate).

This shows in every part of its intelligent design, attractive presentation, useability and constant striving to improve it. It's a mighty piece of software that knocks the stuffing out of some already available fine software....and still can't believe it is free!

I've no association with Tim and I'm not plugging this great achievement for any other reason than I think it is outstanding. While there are a few things to iron out, each new update is a steady improvement.

I can't think of any other app which presents such a comprehensive suite of information, superb maps, flight plan integration, endless but simply presented options, all brilliantly explained. The only issue I first had was script error messages but these have now largely disappeared.  And not having a fast internet connection I'm happy to live with the simpler maps, and use the terrain info when needed. What a joy to know that my flight plan by default reminds me of the NAV frequencies without me searching. The ability to undock each info module or leave it as part of the main window is superb. The excellent convenience of simply hovering over a location or airfield so I get instant data for elevation, frequencies, ILS info etc, is so elegant.

The AI images serve as a much more elegant TCAS without have to slow my frame rates with a TCAS gauge. The flightplan view modes are infinitely flexible, easy to use and stunningly clear. Some very clear thinking and intelligence has gone into the presentation of this application and before I exhaust myself with more accolades I'll leave it there.

Tim: This is a stunning application and a rare treat. Kudos!

All the best,

Thanks Rob, that's very kind of you. :) And may I also say what a joy it is to follow a flight plan in one of your aeroplanes... (the Citabria is still my favourite!)

I couldn't agree more! Fantastic work Tim! You're a freaking genius!

You should introduce a paid version sometime down the road, perhaps when MS Flight becomes available assuming it still supports SimConnect or whatever the SDK is called.
