Hi All,
I installed Plan-G on two computers today. One on my desktop and one on my laptop. The one on my desktop works fine so far, that's where my FSX install is. However the one on my laptop seems to have major issues. I can't access the file menu it's kind of grayed out. I was able to find my FSX.exe on my desktop , but had the hardest time with the scenery.cfg file. This was possibly due to file and folder permissions, because neither computer could see the Microsoft folder in either app data (roaming ) or program data, which is where the FSX scenery file is. Both installations were run using admin permission. OS is Win 7 64 bit on both PCs. I was finally able to access the FSX folder in program data, but after trying to build the database it ran a partial build but didn't complete.

If you've already built the database on your desktop, simply copy the data folder across you your laptop, and you'll be good to go.

Hi Tim,
Copying the data file to the other computer worked. Now I am having connection issues. I've tried IPv6 and IPv4 using either the IP address or the port # of the host computer and when I click on the connect button, it sounds like it connects(makes the usb connecting sound) and then after a few minutes, it disconnects. After reading the manual, I'm a little confused. From the looks of things, these entries should go into the dll file. Am I correct? I'm attaching my log files.

Thanks,
Ed

Please supply the details that you are using - the Plan-G parameters, simconnect.xml and the IPConfig listing for both PCs.

There is no connection attempt shown in that log, but there is a massive database build. Did you send it from the wrong PC?

Hi Tim,
Yep, Probably was the wrong file. that was from the host computer not the remote pc. I'm attaching both a copy the log file from teh remote pc and my dll file. In FSX I have both Simconnect and FSUIPC4(registered). Hope that helps

You have not specified the ip address for the connection - it's trying to connect to localhost, which won't work because FS is running on a different PC.

dll.txt has no relevance to Plan-G.
