Plan-G Connects Once Ok:: Second Connect attempt it Times out

I have been using Plan-G for a few years.  It has worked great across my network LAN.  I upgraded recently to the newest version and now have a problem.

Plan-G will connect with no problem right after I start up both the Plan-G PC and the FS PC.  However, if I disconnect PG or shut down FSX for any reason and attempt to reconnect PG, PG will not connect and times out.  I have checked the log and there is no error logged.  I do get the message on the PG PC screen indicating PG could not connect and asking me to ensure that FSX is running.  Apparently, PG is not able to see FSX via simconnect after the first connection.

I have checked the simconnect files, and, of course, nothing has changed.  Very baffling.

I have also checked the firewall settings and they are appropriate.  Obviously, none of the LAN, simconnect, or firewall settings are the problem, in that, I can connect again by restarting the FSX PC.

I am considering going back to the previous version to confirm that the problem rests with the newest update.  Any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated.

It sounds like something is holding the connection open - rather like leaving an old  phone off the hook. What connection protocol are you using? (Simconnect or FSUIPC)

I am and have been using simconnect.  I agree, it does appear to be something either holding the ports open or blocking them somehow.

Fixed it.  I had revised my exe.xml file to auto run HIDMacros and SPAD.  It appears one of those two programs does not completely close when FSX is closed, thus, effectively blocking the ports.  Everything is back to normal.  The newest version works fine.
