That is still an external IP address. Where are you getting your addresses from?

Tim. @TimArnot

GDR1944

Ah..I don't know a thing about IP address or were they come from.

My computer guy spent a total of 7 hrs trying to set this up between win7 and a XP and gave up saying it can't be done.

I have 2 fairly powerful XPs so I thought It would EZer to set up.
I was told and I probably misunderstood that it was all automatic.

Sorry

Hi:
from host computer
oook now what?
Question...Why so many address

tim arnot

So, your IP address is 192.168.0.3. That's the number you need to use.

Tim. @TimArnot

GDR1944

On this computer I entered the info Local Area Connections 2 Properties/Internet Protocol(TCP/IP) and lost my Internet connection.

I set it back on (Obtain IP address automatically) ....an back on
leaving my self open.....Where do i put it .
Looking around I opened NVIDIA nForce Ethernet/Advanced window and noticed this entry.

THEN

Not automatic
Gerry

tim arnot

NO NO NO NO NO!

The address is to be used in the WideFS configuration (beginning and whole point of this thread). DO NOT Change your Windows settings!

Tim. @TimArnot

GDR1944

OK...OK..I didn't know.
So..I'm reading the manual and although I see a section on TCP and editing the WideClient.ini

I just ran it again and I see what you mean
Again I want to thank you for helping
and I'm learning a lot about networking.
Just a thought. My high speed internet provider included a all in one router / modem.
My computer tech guy is coming over after work tomorrow and hook up just a router.

Ok, it certainly looks like what you have in the WideClient.ini is correct, but something is translating that internal address into an external one (which equates to the phone connection on your modem, and not to any of the PCs). And that could well be happening in your combined router/modem. I certainly think its worth having your tech guy hook up a different router, and see if that makes a difference. One other possibility is to "hard code" the internal IPs on your network. Again your tech guy will know how to do that.

There is one last setting referred to in the Widefs user guide that you don't have in your ini:

Protocol=TCP

I don't *think* it'll make a difference, but there's no harm in trying it...

OK...
Thanks for everything I learned a lot.
The modem/ router is only thing left.
I been relaying our troubleing shooting to Brenden and he is
bringing a router tomorrow night.  I'm going ask to bring a modem to.

I don't know if this is possible for the next update....could you add "r-click fly to" to auto set auto pilot.
A little bragging...My win7 has 6LCDs /3-19s an 3 16s hooked up as 2 monitors so I could un-pin FSNAV to one and Plan G on another.
One of my XPs runs 3 monitors/matrox and a 4th on the other port.
I use the XP to test FS9 Scenery/Aircraft/Apps before installing to Win7.
Well maybe all this helped someone else out to.
