Hi,

I have only recently installed Plan-G and everything seems fine except for loading kml files.  When I click the kml button nothing happens - the open file dialogue box doesn't open - just nothing?

I initially had the same problem with flight plans - I couldn't save a plan because Plan-G would crash and when I tried to load a plan the open file dialogue box wouldn't open.  I had a look in the config file and entered the location of my Plan-G files and now the loading and saving of plans works fine.  I was looking for a similar entry related to kml files but couldn't find anything?

Hope someone can help because other than this very small problem it would appear to be an excellent application.  The viewing of kml files is not a necessity but it would be nice :-)

That's a very strange error - I haven't seen it before. You could try deleting the cfg file in case the path parameter is corrupt. The location of the cfg is given in the readme (it's not the copy that's in the program folder) Unfortunately I won't have access to my PC till tonight so I can't be more specific just now.

Hi Tim,

Tried deleting the cfg file - made no difference :-(

As I explained earlier on my first use I couldn't open or save filght plans withtout the app crashing.  I located the config file and found the locations for flight plans and bookmarks empty.  I edited the config by entering the locations of the folders and all was well.  I have been through the config file several times now but can't see any reference to a folder for kml/kmz files - should there be one?

tim arnot

No it uses the general one, but you had a problem with opening other files - hence my thought.

I've googled the error, and I have another thought: Have you changed the "My Documents" folder on your PC?

Tim. @TimArnot

Munroman

Yes - I created a separate partition on my drive to keep things tidy :-)

tim arnot

Ah. I think that's the cause of the problem. I'll see what I can do to fix it in build 52.
