QDM: Range and Bearing problem

First off I think Plan G is great. I am using it with FSX and have tried both local and network installs with good success.
I am using V 3.0.4.59 on Windows 7. I have Plan G installed on both 32 bit and 64 bit PCs and the QDM behavior is the same.
My problem is the QDM: Range and Bearing does not show range or bearing. It does show the red 'string' and the lat and lon of the mouse pointer. But no range or bearing information.
Is this the correct behavior?

Open the window information in the view tab. Range and bearing are displayed here.
