Problems updating Plan-G

I have been using v3.0.6.67 and think the software is great. I downloaded the latest version but when I tried to uninstall the installed version there was no entry in the Programs and Features section of the control panel. Following some advice elsewhere, I downloaded Revo uninstaller and forced it to uninstall Plan-G. Although all traces of it seem to have gone (including registry enties), when I try to install the new version (as Administrator) I get a box saying "Another version of this product is already installed.". Any suggestion for what to do next?

Reinstall the 3,06 version, and deinstall it using its own installer, not the windows one,

You will get a choice: repair or deinstall.

Then go with the new release.
