Plan-G 3.0.7.71 crashing

Dear All,

I installed 3.0.7.71 on two W7 systems (1x32 and 1x64), and plan-G is crashing every single time I attempt to run it as an administrator (on each system).

Also, when I try a simconnect between the two PCs, plan-g will crash after 5-10 seconds as it attempts to connect to the FSX PC through the network (have tried ipv4 and ipv6, same symptoms).

Is the release still unstable or is this an known issue that someone could help me cope with ?

Thanks to all who will give a bit of their time to help,

Best,

Shortlander

Have you updated .Net 4 to .Net 4.5? That's known to cause crashes for some people - there are lots of threads on it here.

The simconnect library is known to crash sometimes if it fails to connect over a network. Unfortunately, it's a 3rd party library by someone who is no longer involved with FS (one of the original MS guys), and there's no way to fix it. That's always been true since the earliest version. All I can suggest is double-triple checking your connection parameters.

Dear Tim,

Thank you for the quick message. I run .4.5.1. I thought I double checked the connection parameters, but I will do it once more.

Your program is a beauty.

Happy 2014

If you have FSUIPC and WideFS, connecting though that definitely doesn't crash (but WideFS is a pay product)

Dear Tim,

I found out I had an issue with the sharing of folders, and then managed to connect successfully though Simconnect ipv6.

(for some reason, I had to come back to the 3.0.6 version though, as the 3.0.7 would repeatedly crash upon starting).

Thank you,

Best,

Same here. Constant crash. What has changed?
Connects OK, but cannot save or open any flight plans.
Using .NET 4.5.1, FSUIPC registered and the latest Plan-G.

There may be a solution to the DotNet 4.5 issue soon - we're working on it. :)
