I downloaded Plan-G v3.1 and can't seem to get the Information window to display on the screen.  It seems to have disappeared.   I looked at the View tab and the Information Window icon is selected.  Should I reload the software of is there a way to reset to program to the default settings?

I had the same problem around a year ago and Tim bailed me out.
What you can try if your comfortable with looking at your files and making ONE change to get you back on track.

If you are not comfortable with the below hint better just wait for Tim to verify.

In your Plan-G v3.1 directory look for a file called Plan-G3.exe.config.  Open this file.

The line you are looking for is about 75% of the way through the file and looks like this:        <setting name="InformationWindowPosition" serializeAs="String">
        <value>880,140</value>

Where I have the value of 880 (which puts info window in the lower right of the screen), I am guessing that your number might be much higher.  So just change that number to say 880,140 (Change NOTHING else), save the file and restart Plan-G, you should be back on track.

After I got mine back I printed out the file (about 12 pages) made annotations on it about my actions and filed it away for future reference.

Chuck,
I just tried opening the Plan-G.exe.config file and received an error from Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Shell which says "Invalid license data. Reinstall is required".  So I can't seem to open the file to edit it.

Well darn.................I don't have a clue about the license bit. Since the information window comes  up when one first installs and runs Plan-G, I suppose you could reinstall it.
Maybe someone else has a clue on the license thing.

Sorry I can't be of any help in that regard..

I am running Windows 7 Pro 64-bits and have Plan-G installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\TA Software\Plan-G v3.1.

When I right-click on Plan-G.exe.config and look at the properties it says that it opens it with Notepad which it does fine for me. You may want to right-click on the file and force it to open with Notepad.

The config fie you need to edit is in AppData\Local, as per the readme.

Thanks.  I was able to make the changes to the config file using notepad and am up and running.  :)
