Install Probs with Plan-G and P3D V2.2

Hello forum,

I have some problems with the Plan-G installation in P3D V2.2.

.NET 4.5.2 installed

FSUIPC V 4.934 installed

Plan-G Setup (v3.1.0.82) started as admin.

Nav-Database for P3D created (is also written as you can see in the picture below).

But then I have the following image:

The tab files, Home, Map and View are not active.
It will display all airports and I can also create flight plans, but not save - and of course not switch to the other tabs (see picture below)

Maybe someone has a tip for me, what could be wrong?

Thanks

Bluemarlin

The fact that you still have the message to the right of the various icons give me the impression that the database generation is not yet completed; but then again I may be wrong.

What will be very useful for Tim to further help you is the G-Plan log file. You can find it under Desktop --> Libraries --> Documents --> MyDocuments --> Plan-G Files.

The log file is called Plan-G_Log.txt. Attach that file to your next reply.

Hello Dempsey,

thanks for your tip. I have created the database three times, but it seems to occur the same error every time.

I've attached the plan G_Log.txt here

Unfortunately it's a known problem with the P3D database. There is a workaround described elsewhere, which involves copying it over the top of the FSX database, but if you check your messages at the top of the forum, I've sent you a link to the beta of 3.1.1, which has it fixed.

Hi Tim,

many many thanks for your help and the beta version that works quite ideally. Installs and runs without problems.

Without your Plan-G every Flight Simulator would be worth only half.

One small thing I noticed. At the flight plan export page is no button for P3D. I just tried it with the FSX export and it works without problems. Therefore, the button could simply be renamed FSX/P3D export

Tim,

I'm having a similar problem to BlueMarlin's.  I wonder if you would send me a link to beta 3.1.1 also?

I'm also trying to install on X-plane 10 but am unsure what folder to browse to when installing the database.   The X-plane root or deeper?

Many thanks and greetings from Florida.

Hi Tim,

Thanks for the link.  I appreciate the quick response.

I couldn't get V3.1 to load my X-Plane data when I browsed to the XP root directory, but when I drilled down and clicked on X-Plane.exe it loaded the data perfectly.

After I discovered that I went back to loading P3D and did the same thing - browsed to Prepar3D.exe and clicked on it.  This also worked so now I have both data sets available without having to use the V3.1.1 beta.  Looks like it will be a very useful program.  Haven't had time to really try it out yet.

I am running Windows 7, 64 bit and have Plan-G installed in Program Files (x86).

Thanks again for your help,

Regards, Warren

Hi! Tim,

I have a same problem.  Would you send me a link to beta 3.1.1 also?

Another request for the beta! I have the exact same problem and really can't do without Plan-G!  ;)

EDIT
Never mind! Copying the P3D database file over the FSX one did the trick indeed!

Hi

The same problem for me. Would you be kind enough to forward me the link for the beta also?

Many thanks

Hi

I now have the 3.1.1 beta for which I thank you.

However I now have a slight problem since installing it. I find that the option to build a P3D data base is greyed out even though I have pointed Plan-G to the correct location under options/browse?

Are you able to advise?

Could you attach the log file please?

Thanks.
