Plan_G3 has stopped working error

Hi

I recently installed Plan G v3.1.2.101 on my Windows 8.1 laptop. I installed it by right-clicking and running as administrator and I installed it to C:\FSX

During the course of learning how to use it I opened and closed the application many times without issue.

I was able to graphically create a flight plan and save it but as soon as I tried to open the flight plan using the icon in the ribbon (to get the little grid view) the application crashed with a 'Plan_G3 has stopped working' error.
I can't open the application at all now. When I try, I get the splash screen, followed by 2 small empty windows and then it crashes with the same error.

Looking at the windows logs I get 2 errors:

1) a .NET runtime error as follows

Try deleting the config file. It's in C:\Users\<me>\AppData\Local\TA_Software\Plan-G3<Magic Number>\<version number>\
