Plan G on Second Screen

Hi,
   Today I attached a second monitor to my computer for the first time with the sole intention of using it to display Plan-G whilst flying in FSX & P3D on my main monitor. The problem that I'm having is that when I have the sim in full screen mode, the second monitor with Plan-G on it goes black. Is there any way around this, do I need to set up the screens differently?
I'm a newby at setting up two screens, so any suggestion's or help will be much appreciated.

Hi Ian, unfortunately FSX needs to be in windowed mode for any other software to be visible, regardless of whether it's on a second monitor.
