Greetings,
Being a long time user of Plan G. v.3.1.3.  Is there any way of deleting the Highway signs in the Open Cycle Map display.Failing that how do I get the "Subscription Mapbox  ID and Key. I have been to the Mapbox website and found it difficult to understand.
TIA

Install 3.1.4, gives you more choices.

Thank you Tim. I downloaded and installed "setup_planG_314.123.test.zip" with no trouble and am delighted to report that I now have the "Open Street Map / Open Cycle Map" Options up and running. Again thank you.
Regards,
andor.

andor,

If you still like to create your own map(s) on MapBox then here is a brief list:

  • Login to MapBox https://www.mapbox.com/, then go to Studio.
  • Create an account at mapbox.com, the free license will do as that allows you 20 maps I believe.
  • Go to Studio. On the right you will see Access token, your default access token is something like: pk.gdfggghg..., which is the "MapBox Key" in Plan-G.
  • Go to Styles and create or edit a style that you like. E.g. select preferred map type in left upper corner (satellite or emerald were the best for me to see the terrain) and click save at the top of the screen.
  • Look for the Style URL which looks like <yourusername>/ciw...., which is the "MapBox ID" in Plan-G.
  • After entering those in Plan-G you have to restart Plan-G and the MapBox maps are now usable.

I haven't done very much customization to my selected Styles as the default map that Plan-G 3.1.4.124 (beta) offers is quite adequate for me.

The possibility to create new maps is not available anymore. I got a note from Mapbox some time ago:

QuoteThis is a final reminder that on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, Mapbox Editor will be taken offline.
Existing projects created in Mapbox Editor will remain accessible, but you will not be able to edit them or create new Mapbox Editor projects. Any features (markers, lines, and area shapes) you've created in the editor will still be available to download from your projects page. Please take a look at our resources on how to migrate your projects with our latest suite of map design tools, including Mapbox Studio.

Projects in Mapbox "Editor" are no longer available for edit. One may start their own project by using Mapbox "Studio" - a high end, online version of "Editor".
An alternate Mapbox style is available here. It was hand coded in "Studio" while in "Editor" mode.

Thanks all you guys. I agree with "Dempsey" and Tim. The default maps in Plan G v 314.123  (Open Street Map & Open Cycle Map) are more than adequate for my usage in Flight Sim.
Thank you all,
andor.
