Why does what not work?

I'm trying not to be dense here, but I really don't understand what your problem is.

3.2.0.144 doesn't work.

It is the same scenerio as the log file in the first post.

tim arnot

Are you running as Administrator? Is your firewall / antivirus blocking it?

If you're connecting to the same FSX in both cases, from the same PC, these are pretty much the only things that can be different.

Tim. @TimArnot

ananda

It is the same FSX and scenario running on an XP machine.

The two versions of Plan-G are on a W7 machine.

ananda

OK.

I was using the same directory for the Plan-G files for both the beta version and release.

I changed the directory but it seems to be missing some extra directories:

Beta:

\\I7\use
Charts
Data
DEM
Plan-G_L
Profiles
Trail
WX

Release:

\\I7\users\Admin\Documents\Plan-G Files_3.2>dir /b
Plan-G_Log.txt
WX

tim arnot

That's because your "release" folder isn't the Plan-G Files folder.

Plan-G files are stored in My Documents\Plan-G Files\ and nowhere else.

v3.2 allows you to substitute "My Documents" for somewhere else, because it doesn't play nicely with systems that have "My Documents" on a Cloud drive.

But it's not relevant to setting up a Simconnect connection.

Another thing to check is, does your FS PC have a reserved IP address? If not, that has likely changed from the one in your cfg.

Tim. @TimArnot

ananda

#12
The ip address  is reserved, the beta version uses it correctly.

The error now reported is:

13:57:07.0 HelipadsInBounds: System.Data.EntityException: The underlying provider failed on Open. ---> System.Data.SqlServerCe.SqlCeException: The path is not valid. Check the directory for the database. [ Path = C:\Users\Admin\Documents\Plan-G Files_3.2\Data\PlanG3_FSX.sdf ]

ie. File missing from Plan-G Files_3.2 which is where I specified  the files should be.

tim arnot

As I said above, you cannot rename the Plan-G Files folder, only relocate it.
