Hi team,

I am having a problem with the new version of Plan G and P3D V4, however I think the issue is more related to simconnect, the problem is that when I try to create the database for P3D providing the address to networked computer with P3D installed, the process begins but suddenly it finishes without completing the database building.

I tried moving the scenery.cfg file to the networked laptop but it did not work, I reset the scenery.cgf file with SceneryConfigEditor but it did not work either, I run it as an Administrator, disabled User Account Control but nothing seems to work; so then I installed Plan G in the main computer just to see if it was a problem with the scenery.cfg file but it is not, Plan G was able to create the database with no problem and it work perfectly fine, my C drive is shared as well as the P3D Drive and I am able to access them and work with them from the second machine... What could I be doing wrong?

I attached the log.txt file from Plan G if it helps resolving this problem.

Install Plan-G on the computer running P3d and build the database from there. Copy the built database files to your laptop (My Documents\Plan-G Files). Trying to build a database across a network is just an exercise in frustration, yes it is possible, but the hoops you must jump through make it not worth the effort.

Simconnect is not relevant to database creation.

Yes, I forgot to mention that but I also tried moving the airport and airspace files from the main machine to the secondary one, when I tried to merge the airport info the program just froze and eventually stopped responding so I had to restart it, I will anyways try again later on today and just leave it there to see if it responds.

I did not even try with the airspace file because the first one did not work.

I also tried installing an earlier version of Plan G and it started creating the database but is stopped at "Preparing for new data" or something like that and never went on so I just uninstalled that version and kept the newest one.

OK, I tried what you suggested and this is the result.

The Airspace database does merge with no problems.
The airport database merge makes plan G stop responding.

I just left it and see if anything happens after a while, well, after about 30 minutes looping with the Not Responding message on the window title bar this is what showed up "Merged 0 Records"

Attached is a screenshot of the message received.

Ok, so, I was able to create the database in Plan G, what I did was to create a dummy fsx.exe file and put it into the P3D folder, then ran the data base building directing it to the false fsx.exe file and the P3D scenery.cfg file, it worked, however now it shows fsx info, the P3D button is greyed out, now the problem is I am not able to connect to P3D.

Um....?

Database merging is something for X-Plane, from the time when it didn't do airspace. That's of no benefit to you whatsoever.

As I said before, setting up the database is a straightforward process:

1. Install Plan-G on the P3D computer
2. Build the database for P3D on the P3D computer
3. Copy My Documents\Plan-G Files (including subfolders) from the P3D computer to the Plan-G computer
4. Run Plan-G on the Plan-G folder. Select the P3D Data button if it is not active.

When the sim is running and you want to see your aircraft on the map, you may Connect to the sim. See the sticky in the forum for instructions on setting up Simconnect for P3D.

Hahahahaha, Ok, sorry about all the confusion, I was able to "transplant" the Plan G Files folder over to my laptop and connect to the main computer via simconnect following the instructions you gave me, I just want to say I really appreciate your help and commitment to help us out, I would even say this support is better than many other payware tools for Flight Sim.

Thank you and regards from Colombia, South America.
