Can I get the maps for the world in English?

Is it possible to get the maps to display the locations in English for the entire planet?  The individual countries are displaying in their native language even though I have selected EN as the default language.

In general, no. The names are baked into the map tiles by the map providers. You may be able to find a map style that uses English names through the subscription providers, failing that the only other option is to build your own map server, which is a massive amount of work.
