XP11.50/XPUIPC 2.0.5.9 - No apparent connection

I am running PlanG3 (3.2.2) on a single PC with XP11.50 and XPUIPC 2.0.5.9. When I click on Connect I get the audio sound and it highlights Disconnect. However, I do not get a yellow aircraft symbol and PlanG fails to trace the route flown. The Lock/Sync/Free remain greyed out.

No data appears to be transmitted from XP11.50 to PlanG. Any suggestions?

PS. PlanG works fine with P3Dv4.5 and v5.

That usually happens if XPUIPC isn't running/configured in X-Plane.

BTW, you have checked that Plan-G is configured to use XPUIPC, yes?

XPUIPC plugin is enabled in XP11 and XPUIPC set as the FS link.

XP11 log.txt attached as requested.

I was really interested in the Plan-G log... (from Plan-G Files\)

X-Plane log does confirm XPUIPC  is loaded though.

My apologies. I did search for a PlanG log. See attached.

I ran a further test at 0842. With XP11.50 running I clicked Connect and got a double bong with Disconnect highlighted. I disconnected and then reconnected.

The first connection is logged as a FSUIPC Error #12 (FSUIPC_ERR_SENDMSG). The second connection reports that a connection already exists (FSUIPC_ERR_OPEN).

Are you running Plan-G on the same PC as X-Plane, or on as network client?

If it's a network client, is XPWideClient running, and is it configured with the IP of the sim PC?

Tim. @TimArnot

Scotflieger

As mentioned I am running XP11 and PlanG on a single PC. No network client should be needed.

tim arnot

Hmm. In that configuration it really should "just work". Only reason I know of that you'd get an FSUIPC_ERR_SENDMSG on connecting is if XPUIPC isn't running.

Maybe you still need to set the IP on single PS systems, not sure about that though. Otherwise, I'm afraid you'll need to seek more specialised XPUIPC support, cos that's the limit of my knowledge.

That's not good. Can you tell me what versions of XPUIPC and XP11 you use for testing? What data is required by Plan-G to read XP11 position data?

If the FS connection fails, as in this case, should Plan-G not show that it is connected?

Scotflieger

I removed all other plugin to test for any conflicts. Plan-G still failed to connect.

I then carried out a uninstall/reinstall and Plan-G 3.2.2.167 connected to XP11 with the positive multi tone audio tone. Although Plan-G is installed in the /program files folder, I found that I had to explicitly run the program 'as an Administrator' for the correction to work. I failed to connect if I did not.

Thank you for your assistance.

11.40 point whatever is current (I don't install betas, but if the launcher tells me there's an update, I'll install it, and X-Plane doesn't go out of its way to tell you its version number). XPUIPC hasn't been updated in many years. 2.0.3.1 still seems to be current.

QuoteI found that I had to explicitly run the program 'as an Administrator' for the correction to work. I failed to connect if I did not.

That's a good point. Do you run X-Plane as Administrator? Generally if two programs want to communicate at a low level, they need to have the same privileges. So if you run one as Administrator, the other will need to be run as Administrator.

Glad you have it working.

The second issue you mentioned - the error that happens if the connection fails - is something I'll need to investigate further.

I do run most of my apps in admin mode which tends to be the default requirement. I have just completed a flight with full Plan-G tracking.
