Installation problem

I would very much like to try out Plan-G but I have difficulties in installing this program. After I unzipped the download file and click the yellow plane icon, I receieved this message:

"Plan-G is unable to launch the Google Maps interface. Please check:
1. you have IE6
2. javascript, ActiveX and Binary behaviours are enabled
3. clean the browser's cache
4. check for security settings or browser plug-ins"

I have .net framework 3.5 sp1 & IE6.0 installed. But what exactly I have to look for and do with points 2, 3 & 4, I am totally at a loss. Your help would be much appreciated.

Sounds like you need the Google earth browser plugin, you can get it here http://earth.google.com/plugin/

That error occurs when google reports it is unable to run. There should be more information in the log file (Plan-G_Log.txt).

What version of Windows do you have?

Did you clear your IE cache & check the settings as per the error dialog?

What firewall are you using? It is possible your firewall settings are blocking google...

IE6 *should* be recent enough, but it may be you need IE7 or IE8.

I cleared my IE cache, I shut down the firewall, I updated to IE7. The result is the same.

OS version?  Broswer security settings? Anti-virus? Other strange software?

Can you run other google-based progs, such as GMap?

*Something* on your PC is blocking google...
