Connecting W7 64b to Vista 32b

I am trying to connect Plan-G running on a Vista 32b laptop to FSX running on a W7 64b PC. This is on a Linksys wireless LAN. I know I have a connection because P-G was able to build the FSX database. However, when trying to connect, I get the timeout error message. I have tried both the IPv4 and IPv6 connections. I am able to run P-G on the FSX PC on a second monitor and connect locally with no problems.
I've attached my Sim Connect.xml file.

Double check that you've typed the address and port number into the FS Connect dialog correctly -- it's very easy to get a number backwards and not notice. Also check that you're not being blocked by firewall etc.

Checked and double checked the typing. Confirmed that I am communicating both ways PC>laptop>PC. No Firewall conflicts. the two computers are communicating because I was able to build the FSX database on the laptop from the scenery files on the PC.
I noticed in the FSX SDK docs this statement: "Link-local is an IPv6 mechanism for accessing computers on a network that does not involve traversing a router." I am going through a Linksys router on my LAN. Should I be using "unrestricted" rather than "link-local"?

Unless one PC is on the Internet side of the router, then you're not traversing the router, and are just using the switch on the LAN side of it.

But you have two  IP interfaces assigned, and it looks to me like you're using the wrong one. Try the wireless lan adapter address fe80::c87f:9eab:bd5b:2297 -- that looks to be the primary interface.

Darnit. I changed the address...still no joy. There has to be a simple solution that I'm missing.

double checking, that is the address of your FS PC, not the laptop?

That is correct, it is the address of the FSX PC.

The only other address listed is the external one (2001:...). Worth a try. You might need to set global rather than link-local. Could you also post the log file, in case there's something in that to give us a clue?
