Re-numbering waypoints

In my low level flight plans I end up with the wpt numbers jumbled up because I "adjust" the plan to avoid obstacles (Like 4000' mountains when I am flying the valleys at 2000'.).

Can the wpts be manually renumbered in a logical sequence, or better still can it be done automatically?  Thanks.
