Plan-G on home network

If I have FSX installed on Windows 7 and Plan-G installed on my other computer which uses Windows XP, which communication protocal should I use? IPv4 or iPv6. Thanks

XP doesn't have IP6 as standard, so I should use IP4.

Still having problems. This is my SimConnect.xml:

The address is set to the IP address of the FSX PC which is on Windows 7. I configured the SimConnect settings in Plan-G as follows:

Network Mode: IPv4
FSX Computer: fe80::35df:c64f:4201:c8be
Server Port/Pipe: 4506

Is there anything I need to correct or add. Thanks in advance.

You've specified IPv4 as the protocol, but you've used IPv6 addresses. Change the addresses to IPv4 (192.168....) and you'll be right.

I'm at a loss. I changed the addresses as you suggested, but still unable to connect to FSX. I have both FSX and FS9 installed on different computers, and have no trouble running Plan-G as a stand alone for either flight sim. I just can't show FSX on a separate monitor.

I'm Not sure I know what you mean. I entered the addresses(192.168.1.104) for an IPv4 in both places.

Also check that any antivirus & firewall you might have installed is not blocking it.

Nothing works. Any other suggestions? One thing confuses me however; on page 57 of the manual under section 10.2.1
for an IPv4 protocol it says "if you choose to use the example above, then usually, only the computer address needs to be changed to match your FSX PC's IP address." That's what I did as shown in the above post.

And you've also changed the IP in the Plan-G connection dialog to match? If both addresses match (and are correct), the port numbers match, and there's no firewall/AV blocking it, then it should work. Can you post the connection attempt from the log file so we can check for errors?

So which PC was the windows log from?

Please confirm (and post):

* The IP address of the FSX PC
* The IP address of the PC running Plan-G
* That FSX is running, and is SP2/Acceleration

The Windows log was from the Plan-G PC (which is Windows XP)

The IP address of the FSX PC (Windows 7) is fe80::35df:c64f:4201:c8be
The IP address of the Plan-G PC is 192.168.1.104
FSX is running and is SP2/Acceleration
