Connected, but no map showing

Post by jwkz »

Long-time happy user of Plan-G on FSX. Recently moved to MSFS Steam version and Windows 11 on new PC. Downloaded Plan-G version 1.4.272.
It connects to the sim, showing my aircraft at the correct lat/long. But the Open Streets map display contains only blue tiles with the message, “We are sorry, but we don’t have imagery for this region at this zoom level”. Same display shows at all zoom levels.

Thanks, John

Is your PC connected to the Internet? Have you tried a different map provider? It’s possible there is a network outage somewhere between you and OpenStreetmap.

There is no correlation between the map display and any sim or connection to a sim: it just needs a connection to the internet.

Definitely connected to the internet, successfully downloaded the latest MSFS release today.
What other free map sources are compatible and how do I connect to them?

Options -> General. Pick one from the list.

When I logged in today, OpenStreetmap came up right away. As do all the other map options.
Like you said earlier, it must have been a temporary network outage.

Many thanks, Tim, for bringing Plan-G over to MSFS. It's still an amazing piece of work!
