I have had a remote connection working perfectly for years now, but suddenly, after a Windows re-install, I can't connect. Plan-G log says-
20:15:16.5 Connect
20:15:16.5 SimConnect.Connect - Remote. Mode = IPv4 Server = 192.168.0.213 Port = 4506
20:15:21.6 SimConnect connection attempt timed out
20:15:21.6 Disconnect
My SimConnect.XML says-
<SimConnect.Comm>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<Protocol>IPv4</Protocol>
<Scope>global</Scope>
<Address>192.168.0.213</Address>
<MaxClients>64</MaxClients>
<Port>4506</Port>
<MaxRecvSize>4096</MaxRecvSize>
<DisableNagle>False</DisableNagle>
</SimConnect.Comm>
I have checked that the IP address is set up correctly in the adaptor, and Windows Firewall is allowing Plan-G to use port 4506.
What else should I be checking?

Re: Remote Connection Failure
I should have said that this was for FS2020. Curiously the connection for FSX still works. What's different about FS2020?

Re: Remote Connection Failure
Finally cured by disabling Windows Defender Private Network. Need to figure out now how to tell it to allow Simconnect from MS2020 to work.

Re: Remote Connection Failure
Windows can do some strange things with networking sometimes, and I'm no expert: all I can really say is it SHOULD work...
