Hello Tim,
Someone has to be the first one to ask this question:
Can you already say whether PlanG will also be operational in the new MSFS Flight Simulator 2024?
Will there be a new PlanG version necessary (or will this version xxx.295 still work)?
Dieter

Re: PlanG and FS2024
Can't say at the moment, since I haven't been part of the beta. But I will be getting it when it comes out, then we shall see...

Well, now MSFS2024 has been published. Tim, can you provide some informations about using PlanG now?

Re: PlanG and FS2024
I don't have it yet, so I can't speak from personal experience (won't be until at least next month, or even the new year - I simply don't have any money, thanks to major house repairs earlier this year). But from other people's experience:
You can connect to the running sim, and monitor your flight in the usual way.
You can open flight plans in the sim, exported from Plan-G as MSFS
What you cannot do is build a database. Partly that's because the config files are in a different place, and also, we haven't actually located the nav data yet (not having the sim doesn't help in this regard!). And it may be possible that the data isn't even stored locally, with all these thin client shenanigans. But to be honest, if you still have 2020, you can just use the data from that. At least in the short term. While there will be minor differences, the airports and naviads won't have moved between sims, and 2020 is still getting regular navdata updates.

Re: PlanG and FS2024
I can confirm that version 4.2.5.295 runs apparently OK after the update of 12 December (version 1.2.7.0).
I am using the PC version of 2024, bought from the MS Store, and I used the default installation location.
In my case it was only necessary to change the "Locastion" in PlanG's File/Options/ to ...
C:\XBox Games-2\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\Content\Packages
and PlanG has used the same FS Connection parameters as it had for MSFS 2020,
I haven't made any changes to the database file, as it is not critical in the short term.
