Hi,
I 've never had this issue before when i update Plan-G.
I've downloaded, unzipped files, and then overwritten my previous version of Plan-G files. When I open it, the hour glass spins and my CPU for Plan-g.exe jumps to 24%. It seems to hang at "StartMap" according to the log. I can't access anything and then I have to end task on Plan-g.exe.
How do I fix this issue?

Re: Plan-Gv4.1.4.272 does not allow me to select anything on Plan-G
Ok I found the issue, the old user.config file corrupted. Everything worked when I ran Plan-G from the new install. I used the new user.config that was created. Is there a download for the 64 bit version for MSFS?
Thanks

As far as I know there is no 64 bit version for PlanG up to now.
At some point Tim mentioned that he might be planning a 64-bit version.
But let's wait and see what the author himself has to say about this...

Plan-G has been 64bit since around build 218 Aug/Sept 2020

Well, sorry, I'm not the expert and I don't want to question your knowledge, but my computer identifies PlanG v4.1.4.272 as 32-bit software. (?)

Maybe then it's only a change to the database to 64-bit?

Re: Plan-Gv4.1.4.272 does not allow me to select anything on Plan-G
Plan-G is NOT 64-bit.
It can't be 64-bit and still support FSX, FS9 and other 32-bit simulators (yes there are still plenty of users of those sims).
I've been looking into making a 64-bit version to get around certain memory problems while building the MSFS database, but it's not a simple or quick process, and as I mentioned above there are compatability issues. I may just make a 64-bit database builder, but that has other issues which I won't go into here.
Anyhow, back to the original problem. If the settings file is corrupt, the simplest thing is to delete it and let Plan-G create a new one. It's in AppData\Local\TA_Software\
There's a separate file for every version, and Plan-G will import its settings from previous versions, so you'll need to delete the latest settings file and potentially one or more earlier ones. If you know (or can determine) which earlier file is corrupt, you can just delete that one.
