Is there a way to force v.265 to see XP11 and not think I've still got XP12 installed?
I had the demo for XP12 installed but removed it as I'm not ready to get the full version yet, so I'm still on XP11, but when I try to create the Nav database, I see xplane12 in small text and when I go to settings I see "C:\xp12/X-Plane 12/" in the dialog box and the browse is greyed out, I can manually type the location for XP11 in the box, and it will create the data, but won't remember what I've typed in as the location and I still see the xplane12 in small text.

Re: forcing Plan-G to see XP11 not 12
At the moment...
Go to your AppData\Local folder and rename x-plane_install_12.txt (I don't suggest deleting it, cos if you decide to run XP12 again in the future, you may need to pit it back). Plan-G will then see X-Plane 11 as the most recent version.
I'll see if I can come up with something less disruptive for the next update.

Re: forcing Plan-G to see XP11 not 12
Thank you Tim, that fixed it.
I had to edit the x-plane_install_11.txt file to have my current location at the top of the file, otherwise it was looking at my Z: drive not my M: drive
Also it it a known bug where the sim connection jumps from XPUIPC to FSUIPC even though I only use XPlane, if I don't check before connection is made?

I'll have a look at that, although there's really no difference between the two as far as Plan-G is concerned.

The only difference I see from Plan-G's point of view is that XPUIPC connects straight away, where with FSUIPC there's a very slight pause, that's how I know that FSUIPC is trying to connect, and this latest iteration seems to create the database much quicker.

Re: forcing Plan-G to see XP11 not 12
Hi
I have the opposite issue with X-plane 11 & 12 data configuration
I have full versions for X-plane 11 & X-plane 12 installed on the same "D" drive
This new version of Plan-G keeps selecting X-plane 11 path in the build database setup
the x-plane 11 is pre-filled in and can not change it the "browse to folder" is greyed out, and
if I manually enter the correct x-plane 12 path and run the database creation, it shows it is reading
and creating data from the x-plane 11 folder. And when I check settings again it changed the path location
back to x-plane 11
Thanks
John

Are you using the current build (272)? Several bugs in the X-Plane database builder have been fixed recently...

Re: forcing Plan-G to see XP11 not 12
The issue is that I have both x-plane 11 & 12 installed. The newest version of Plan G pre fills in the x-plane 11 path into the database configuration menu and the “buttons” to allow you change the settings are grayed out and not clickable.
So when you try to build the x-plane 12 data Plan G uses the x-plane 11 path when it runs

Re: forcing Plan-G to see XP11 not 12
If you are using build 272 (you didn't answer my question), it should detect which versions of X-Plane you have installed and let you choose which to build the database for. I have 9, 10, 11, and 12 installed on my PC, and it lets me pick any of them.
The one thing it doesn't do is remember your previous selection the next time you build the database, so it'll default to the most recent it can find (e.g. X-Plane 12), and you'll have to select a different one if that's what you want. It also won't cope with multiple installs of the same version on one PC (e.g. 2 copies of X-Plane 12), and will only use the most recently installed one. But that's not a typical situation.

Re: forcing Plan-G to see XP11 not 12
I was using .270. Hilda but also tried build 272 with the same results. The build nav database allows me to pick xp11 or xp12 but when you open settings the “browse” button is greyed out (not clickable)
If the xp12 button on build navigation is selected then click “ok” to start the status text shows the folder for xp11 NOT xp12 is being read and configured and built
The only way I have found to get this to read the actual xp12 folder/directory is to go to C / user / appdata / and rename the x-plane_install_11.txt to .bak and only then will it actually read and build xp12 data from the correct xp12 folder location
I also just posted this detail in the “problem with building the X-Plane topic section a few minutes ago
