Please try the dropbox link in the support thread: http://www.tasoftware.co.uk/forum/index.php?msg=21991

We're also working on a more permanent solution...

Currently no, there is no option to change that. But I'll add it to the list.

I can make that an option, certainly.

That sounds kinda small. I'd expect it to be around 830MB for MSFS. It definitely sounds like the ISECs are missing.

(To search go to the Home ribbon and click on Find. Intersections are the 4th item in the dropdown. Click the name rather than the icon to get the menu.)

Try building the database again (use a freshly rebooted PC and build immediately after starting Plan-G, just to eliminate any potential memory issues). Then if the database is still undersize, please attach the log file here (Plan-Gv4 Files\Plan-Gv4Log.txt), and I'll be able to diagnose it further.

While I can put the file on Dropbox, this is not a long term solution. Are you sure there's not an antivirus or download manager or some other plugin that's interfering? Because the vast majority of people are downloading it without problem.
I've even downloaded it on my phone in a cafe without a problem (other than it being a slow connection)

I've tried two different download servers from two different companies now. I'm not sure what else I could do. (well, I could move the entire site from it's current host and relocate it somewhere else, but there's no guarantee even that would make a difference.

I'll wait for the other people to try the new link (there's only been 4 downloads from this link so far and 3 of those were me)
Otherwise, I'm at a loss.

Ok, some basic questions first:

What simulator are you using?
Have you built the navigation database for that simulator, and is it selected? (on the data ribbon)

The manual is for v3, which would have been current 5 years ago. It is still applicable and really only lacks information about new stuff added to v4 (e.g. logbook etc). Even though there are visual changes over v3, basic functionality is pretty much the same. I'm working on a new manual, but I'm just one guy...

Intersections are enabled/disabled from the Map ribbon. As with all map marker elements they are subject to a minimum zoom level (which can be set or changed from the Navaid Marker Options popup - manual page 52)

Let us also consider that the database might be incomplete or corrupted (e.g. the ISECs are missing) for some reason. An indication of the file size will tell me if that's likely. You'll find the database in

My Documents\Plan-Gv4 Files\Data

and the file is

Plan-G_NavData{simulator}.db

Autopilot functionality is still provided as part of the Radio Stack panel, accessed from the View ribbon (manual page 72).

Ok, I'm trying a different downloads manager. Please let me know if this works:

Are you using the built in zip, or an Addon? Do you use a download manager and / or antivirus?

I've just downloaded & unzipped it here with no problem (win 10, chrome, windows defender, built-in zip. Also MacOS Ventura)

There's a Plan-G update currently in testing, that addresses this issue as well as adding support for X-Plane 12. Should be available in a few days. :)

Meanwhile Picnic's workaround does the job.

Plan-G / MSFS SIM UPDATE 11
November 05, 2022, 07:02:22 PM
MS have changed the location of airport "friendly names" in Sim Update 11. As a result you will have problems with a database built for MSFS Sim Update 11. But there is a workaround:

1. Create a backup of your Plan-Gv4 Files\Data\AircraftNames.db file
(this will probably get destroyed in the build, so you'll need to copy it back later)

2. Open the Build Database Dialog and click on Settings.

3. Find the MSFS LocPak entry (near the bottom) and click Browse.

4. Browse to (msfs2020)\Official\OneStore\fs-base-genericairports\en-US.locPak and click Open. (the path will depend on where you have installed MSFS)

You should now be able to build your database. Once it's done, copy back the AircraftNames.db file.

There will be a permanent fix in the next update.

Aha!
It looks like they've split the data into multiple files. Thanks Pete.

We still need the old file for aircraft names though, so I suspect that by changing your locPac setting, you've lost the aircraftnames database. You may still have a backup though, if you didn't rebuild more than once.
