Excellent news, Russ, which got you another little donation.

Kind regards, Michael

Thanks  Michael. I have deleted, in sequence..net4.5.1, and Plan -G 3.07.71 closing down after each action. Then loaded net 4.0 via your suggested link, closed down, restarted and loaded G -plan afresh but without success. Still the same Plan - G stopped working message.
It is back to forum scanning and waiting in hope that the new version Plan -G will solve the problem. It does appear to be quite common. Reg

Hi Russell,

I am afraid, the .net issue is only one of several ones causing this message. Here's one more experience: After installation on my main machine failed, I tried the networked laptop, which I use most of the time anyway for running Plan G. This is still on .net 4.0 (there was no need to upgrade) and it's able to run Plan G 3.07.71 indeed.

Perhaps you can find a solution in one of the other threads?

Kind regards, Michael

Reginald Russell

Plan G Not starting.. I am still with this problem. Following on forum comments I have back dated Net 4., updated Plan G to current spec. but still get immediately the dreaded message. The only difference I can see compared with an updated  older Vista system is that the icon placed in the task bar is different....a monitor encompassed by a set square.
Does this give anyone a clue. All ideas or hand holding welcomed. Frustration reigns....Reg Russell  G-TARQ

This is a stunning bit of software for which I am most grateful and have happily made a donation. Unfortunately my install has started to crash for some reason. I'm using it on the same computer that is running X-Plane 10.25, Windows 7 64bit, 16GB RAM, 3GB NVIDIA GT 540 video card. If it is of any help I am including the crash report and the log from the event viewer. Many thanks!

This is an out of memory error. Can you give some idea of that you had been doing and what else was running?

rele

Yes the 'out of memory' surprised me. I have just been having another play. I have had X-Plane, Plan-G and Panel Builder from simplugins.com running and nothing else. The Panel Builder had 11 items running, each of which is a very small exe (I'm sure you are probably familiar with it). I was also monitoring 'Performance' in Task Manager. After about 20 minutes G-Plan crashed. My processor was running at 38% and memory usage about 3.8 GB (I have 16 GB). I think Plan-G has crashed before without Panel Builder running but am not certain about that.

I hope this may be of some use and will help if I can do any more. Thanks.

tim arnot

Can you attach the Plan-G log? You'll find it in My Documents/Plan-G Files.

Plan-G Log file attached as requested. Thanks.

Seems to be doing an awful lot of map redraws. I'd suggest you try setting the refresh mode to Sync or Free.

I have just had Plan-G running in 'Sync' mode for 7 hours without a problem. Perhaps 'Lock' mode is the problem. I will stick with 'Sync' mode for the time being and report back after clocking up a lot more hours.
